A client approached Hittle Landscaping and asked to transform their hilly and awkward backyard into a usable and inspiring space where they could go and relax. Our designers started with stamped pathways from the front of the home to welcome guests. To break up the hills, we built retaining walls that created and defined new spaces for entertaining their guest. One of the spaces is perfect for outdoor recliners that receive both sun and shade throughout the day. Another space includes a pergola and custom fireplace, perfect for snuggling up and taking the chill off a fall evening. The pergola provides some shade throughout the day, without blocking the are off from the rest of the backyard. Through the backyard, we used the same stone with complimentary plants for a continuous experience that matched the existing landscaping and the house. The landscaping between the retaining walls helps to break up the space and emphasize the greenery in the yard.
